Gáldar is one of the most interesting towns in the north of Gran Canaria. One of the most emblematic attractions is the centenary dragon tree that is in the courtyard of the town hall. In this municipality is one of the most representative archaeological sites of the Canary Islands, the Cueva Pintada, which exhibits a valuable sample of the art made by the ancient Canarians. In the municipality there are also the Antonio Padrón House Museum, the Cachazo and Verde de Aguilar House and the Museum of Sacred Art, the latter in the back of the Church of Santiago Apóstol. Playa de Sardina, with blue flag since 2018, and Playa del Agujero are among the best beaches in the municipality.
